Happy Earth Day! It’s one of our favorite days of the year. At Stikwood, our focus on being eco-friendly is a priority.
Our entire company is driven by the philosophy that if something’s worth doing, then it’s worth doing right. Using Stikwood in your home means using reclaimed wood paneling that has a rich authentic American history and an inherent focus on sustainability. We also take pride in our FSC certification. The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC), is a nonprofit organization specializing in setting standards for responsibly sourcing the timber used in many industries. Over the past 30 years, the FSC, along with other nonprofit agencies have been ensuring the health and sustainability of forests around the world by establishing best practices standards.
Stikwood products are completely VOC-free. Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and other toxins can be emitted into living spaces by a surprising number of traditional building materials, finishes, and household products. While we can't see these substances, they can silently pollute indoor air, aggravate allergies, and adversely impact our health. Sustainable materials like Stikwood forgo most harmful toxins and pollutants to afford optimal indoor air quality and a healthier environment that you can feel safe coming back to every day.
We also collect all of our sawdust. We package it into cubes and deliver it to a facility up the road to help provide clean energy for the community.
All of our products are made right here in the USA. Every part of our packaging, including the tape liner, can be thrown into a green bin for recycling once the reclaimed wood paneling has been installed.
