Designer Spotlight: E.W. Kitchens

In our ongoing Designer Spotlight Series, we talk with interior designers and architects to see what inspires them, and get insights to how they approach creating beautiful spaces… in this Spotlight we caught up with the crew at E.W. Kitchens to find out what's happening in the high-end kitchen and cabinet world.

Stikwood: Give us the scoop, as a company that has been around for 73 years, your experience matters—what is E.W. Kitchens all about?

E.W.: E.W. Kitchens is a 2nd generation family owned high-end kitchen and bath design firm based out of Metro-Detroit. We empower people to dream and think big. Our team of expert consultants jump at every opportunity to listen to your needs, serve as a partner in your project, and inject both innovation and imagination to turn dreams into reality. The quality of our products, coupled with the reliability of our entire Dream Team, allows us to seamlessly deliver beauty into every home. Experience a remodel unlike any other… imagine that!

Stikwood: How does Stikwood fit into your designs?

E.W.: For us, a kitchen and bath cabinetry company, we like to let our beautiful cabinetry be the focal point of a room. It’s easy to add in personality and your style through the addition of a statement backsplash, beautifully grained countertop or on-trend lighting. The versatility of stikwood makes it a great fit for a backsplash in a kitchen or bar area or even on a statement wall in a master bathroom.

Stikwood: What would you say is your “signature style”?

E.W.: We encourage our clients to dream big in any style they gravitate towards! At the moment, we are currently designing a lot more modern and contemporary spaces.

Stikwood: What was your favorite project using Stikwood products? What made it so special?

E.W.: By far our most favorite design using Stikwood is our custom built-in wine bar. This custom cabinetry bar was built using Ayr Custom Cabinetry and is topped with a Cambria quartz countertop. We added the Stikwood product to add a bit more texture to the rustic knotty cabinetry and life-edge shelf. The dry bar is completed with lucite pegs from Vintage View wine solutions. Cheers!

Stikwood: What is your best piece of advice to offer someone who wants to redecorate a room on their own?

E.W.: Know your style! If you don’t already know specifically what that is (transitional, coastal, rustic farmhouse, modern), find inspiration photos from E.W. Kitchens’ project showcase or search on Pinterest. Defining your style via a moodboard is also a great way to start the process, try ours!

Stikwood: Where can people go to find out more about your services?

E.W.: Come Dream Big with us by visiting www.ewkitchens.com, following us on Instagram @EW_Kitchens, Facebook, Pinterest and Houzz.
