Slatwood is a real wood acoustic panel system for walls and ceilings. Each panel combines real wood slats with architectural acoustic felt to add warmth, texture, and sound absorption to a space. Slatwood is made in Michigan by Stikwood for residential and commercial interiors.
What Is Slatwood?
Slatwood is a wood slat wall and ceiling panel made with real wood slats bonded to acoustic felt. The slats create the visual rhythm and natural character. The felt helps absorb reflected sound and reduce echo.
Unlike printed wood-look panels or paper thin veneer panels, Slatwood has real grain, real texture, and natural variation. It brings the warmth of wood into a room while helping the room sound more comfortable.

What Does a Slatwood Panel Look Like?
Our Chorus panels (shown above) have 6 slats per foot, and Melody has 7 slats per foot. Our panels are designed to be installed on walls or ceilings.
How Is Slatwood Made?
Slatwood uses real wood slats bonded to recycled architectural acoustic felt. The slats add natural texture and help diffuse sound, while the felt helps absorb reflected sound.
How Many Panels Come in a Box?
Each box contains two Slatwood panels that cover 15.75 square feet of wall or ceiling. Panels are packaged together as a pair so you can see how the slats align across an installation.
What Makes Slatwood Different than Other Slat Panels?
Quality is the defining feature of our Slat panels. Our panels are made in the USA from the highest quality materials. Our veneer options are made with thicker furniture-grade brushed European Oak veneer and our reclaimed slat products are made with real reclaimed wood. Additionally, our slats are bonded, NOT stapled making them easier to work with and more durable. You cannot buy a higher quality slat panel.
How Do Slatwood Acoustic Panels Work?
Hard surfaces such as drywall, glass, and concrete reflect sound. Those reflections can create echo and make a room feel noisy.
Slatwood helps in two ways:
- The wood slats diffuse sound reflections instead of leaving a flat, hard surface.
- The acoustic felt absorbs sound energy to help soften echo and background noise.
Slatwood is designed for sound absorption—not soundproofing. It can make sound inside a room calmer and clearer, but it does not block sound from traveling between rooms. Soundproofing requires a different construction system.

Slatwood is available in two slat profiles:
- Melody: classic narrow slats for a refined, detailed look.
- Chorus: wider slats for a bolder architectural statement.
Choose from modern oak finishes, including Aged Oak, Dark Oak, Driftwood, and Light Oak, as well as reclaimed wood options such as Sierra Silver and Weathered Wood.
Because wood is natural, every panel has its own grain and variation. We recommend ordering samples before choosing a finish.
How Do You Install Slatwood?
Slatwood panels are designed for fast, easy installation. You can install them with construction adhesive or mechanical fasteners such as screws.
- Acclimate the panels. Remove the packaging and let the panels rest in the installation room for two to five days.
- Measure and cut. Measure the wall or ceiling, then cut panels to length with the felt side facing up.
- Place the first panel. Use a level and take your time. The first panel sets the line for the rest of the installation.
- Secure the panels. Screw through the felt between the slats, or use construction adhesive as appropriate for your surface.
- Continue across the wall. Check your level regularly and cut the final panel to fit.
