How to Install Shiplap Wall Planks

Installing traditional shiplap wall planks is challenging, and it’s usually done by professionals. Conversely, Stikwood wall planks are designed for easy DIY installation using the peel-and-stick method.

Like any real wood planks, you’ll need to let them acclimate to the room where you plan to install them. Unwrap them and place them on a pile, and just let them sit there for two to five days. Before peeling and sticking them to the walls, make sure your wall and planks are clean so no dust gets trapped between the adhesive and your wall.

It’s up to you whether you want to install the shiplap wall planks horizontally or vertically. Horizontal shiplap planks are more common, but vertical shiplap can make the room appear taller. More adventurous, DIY-savvy homeowners can even create a diagonal or V-shape. If you want to know how to install shiplap wall planks in greater detail, check out this article.
